Meet the Team

Mark Engel, DDS

Dr. Engel graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center, at Houston Dental Branch in 2003. Dr. Engel loves practicing dentistry, so immediately after graduating, he began practicing dentistry in Arizona. In 2011, he moved to the Sacramento area, where in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and six children.

When Dr. Engel is out of the office, you can often find him working on projects around the home, playing sports, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Engel is also an Eagle Scout and enjoys teaching the kids some of the skills he has learned over the years.

Dr. Engel enjoys giving back to the community when possible. When located in Arizona, he sat on the Advisory Board for Mesa Community College Dental Hygiene Advisory Board. Since relocating to California, he has served as a volunteer Dentist for the California Mission of Mercy with the California Dental Association.

Jolene Hutcheson, Registered Dental Assistant

Jolene is a Registered Dental Assistant and has over 10 years of experience in the dental field.  Jolene is passionate about providing a comfortable and safe experience for every person.  “I am excited about my role at Engel Family Dentistry!”

When she’s not at work, Jolene loves to spend time with her 2 wonderful sons.  She is a long time (20 year) resident of El Dorado Hills.

She is also a health “nut” and enjoys eating right and exercising regularly.  She has discovered Bikram Yoga which helps her to keep her calm and relaxed all the time!

Nikki Breznock, Office Manager

Nikki is an insurance expert! “I am dedicated to helping each patient maximize their dental benefits”. She has been working in the dental field for about 3 years and absolutely loves it. “I love working with Dr. Engel! He truly cares about his patients and his staff. We focus on serving our patients and have a blast doing so”.  She enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Karen Jones, Registered Dental Hygienist

Karen has been a practicing Registered Dental Hygienist for 16 years and she is GREAT at it!  She attended Sacramento City College where she received her Associate of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene.  Karen is enthusiastic about being a part of Engel Family Dentistry and helping patients with their dental needs.  When she’s not at work Karen enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and the outdoors.
